The Black Caps tour of the West Indies has gone from bad to worse with another playing pulling out of the second Test with injury.
Opening batsman Daniel Flynn is the latest casualty for the squad and he has been forced with a right adductor muscle (groin) strain.
Flynn joins Daniel Vettori on the side-lines who yesterday pulled out with a similar injury.
The batsman pulled up lame at training today after first picking up the injury in the first Test loss in Antigua.
"Daniel has been carrying the grade one injury since the last day of the first Test but had responded positively to treatment," Black Caps physiotherapist Paul Close says
"We felt there was a reasonable chance he would be fit to play but his progress over the past 24 hours plateaued.
"He was still experiencing pain during the team training session today but we're confident he will be fully fit in time for the upcoming tour of India."
It leaves New Zealand just 13 players from which to choose from. BJ Watling is likely to come into squad with Brendon McCullum shifting up from first drop to open the batting with Martin
The second and final Test starts tomorrow morning in Kingston, Jamaica.
