The Chiefs have named an unchanged line-up from last week's semi-final to take on the Sharks in Saturday's Super Rugby final in Hamilton.
The Waikato-based franchise received a boost this afternoon when co-captain and lock forward Craig Clarke was cleared from a knee injury and was announced fit to take his place in the side.
The hard-working Clarke was a spectator at his sides training's earlier this week, but coach Dave Rennie said he has recovered sufficiently and will again lead the side, along with blindside flanker Liam Messam.
"Craig had a run this morning and the knee came through really well," Rennie told ONE Sport this afternoon.
"We had a big session, pretty physical, and we left him out of that, but he'll take part in our captain's run tomorrow and take the field on Saturday."
Rennie said it is "huge" to have Clarke back.
"He's done a fantastic job of leading this team on-field and he's obviously a big part of our set-piece.
"He's a real calming influence and we're really wrapped to have him out there. And I know the boys take a lot of confidence from him being out there."
Rennie conceded Clarke would be below his best, however, he insisted that the Chiefs would not be taking risks with his inclusion.
"He's not going to be 100% at the weekend, but we're confident we can strap it up and get the best out of him.
"If we were doubtful we wouldn't throw him out there but he certainly wouldn't want to be a burden on the rest of the team."
He said Clarke had improved quickly this week and will perform even better by Saturday.
In choosing the same side that edged out the Crusaders 20-17 last Friday, Rennie has again opted to leave young All Black Sam Cane on the bench, retaining Tanerau Latimer in the starting openside role.
"Lat's will start at seven. We did contemplate bringing Sam in, certainly if Craig Clarke was out injured, we might have put Kane Thompson back into lock and that would have brought Sam Cane into the starting line-up," Rennie said.
"He's gone really well for us and to be able to bring him in off the bench and inject him into the game perhaps when the Sharks are starting to tire, we think will be huge for us."
The Chief's coach said based on what he has seen this year it has "certainly worked better for us starting Lat's and bringing Sam into the game, so that's the plan on the weekend".
Ultimately, Rennie believed the team who has succeeded in getting into the final deserved the chance to finish the job against the Sharks.
"The starting 15 fronted big-time so they get another opportunity to back that up.
"We only used a couple off the bench but more than likely there will be a few more subs injected this week so it's the same bench," he said.
Meanwhile, the Sharks touched down at Auckland airport just after 5pm and headed straight to Hamilton where they will hold a media conference tomorrow afternoon.
